Different Positions in the Lifestyle(s)

Dom- The masculine term for a Dominant. This term is generally used for those that do not necessarily participate in the ownership of slaves. A Dominant is a half. As a Master/Mistress may have multiple slaves, a Dominant will generally only have one submissive.

Domme-The feminine term for a Dominant.

Master - The masculine term used to refer to a male in the lifestyle. ( Gor or BDSM ) These males own slaves/pets and are adequate and knowledgeable in the lifestyle to properly guide and be an owner. Many claim this title, but do not properly fill the role sadly enough. People in these roles have a high responsibility of another's life. Sometimes multiple lives.

Mistress - The feminine term used to refer to a female in the lifestyle. This term is also used in Gor and BDSM. In Gor, every Free Woman is titled with Mistress.

submissive - a submissive is not a slave. They are the complimentary counter part to a Dom/me. They have rules that they must abide by yes, though they are more loose than slave laws and a pleasure cruise compared to Gor laws. A sub, ultimately only serves his/her Dom/me. Where as the Dom/me would be responsible for decision making, providing and the head roles of a relationship, the submissive is the support to them. They're roles would be similar to that of a house wife. They do wear collars or something to represent their status, something as simple as a ring could be acceptable. They are responsible for taking care of tetius and mundane tasks to make the Dom/me's life easier as well as provide a strong sense of support and encouragement to the Dom/me. Though subs do not have to obey all Free and have right to do pretty much as they please in the absence of their Dom/me, they still represent their Dom/me. If a sub acts out of place, disrespectful and above their status in a room, ( in a room with Dom/me's, slave's, Masters, Mistresses, kajira/us, a sub does not sit in places that are intended for the free. They are expected to kneel or take a secondary position in the room.) their actions still refelct upon their Dom/me.

pet - A pet is exactly that. Think of your dog, your cat, your ferret. pets are similar to submissive's. They have quite a bit of freedoms, the only difference is the degree. pets are submissive's that are animals, in a collar, that are to be companions to the Dom/me or Master/Mistress. ( Furries can be pets or people playing a strict feral animal character. ) pets are different from subs in the sense that they not there to fulfill the counter role of a Dom/me. They are companions.

slave - a slave has very very little freedoms. What freedoms they have is up to the discretion of their Master/Mistress. They are to be respectful to all Free. They may not attend rooms that their Master/Mistress is not welcome in, or rooms that their Master/Mistress has forbidden them to enter. Like pets and subs, their actions, attitudes, presence, appearance, directly reflects upon their Master/Mistress. Unless given specific orders from their Master/Mistress, they obey orders from all free as long as it does not compromise their status with their Master/Mistress. IE: If a slave is ordered to enter a room that their Master/Mistress is not permitted in or ordered to remove their collar, or perform intimate acts. A slave is property.
